Initial Washrooms, part of Rentokil Initial are seeking dedicated, customer focused and driven individuals, to join our existing team. We are currently looking for a Electrical or Mechanical Maintenance Engineering Technician based in Birmingham. The main objective of this position is to ensure all plant and equipment are maintained to a good standard and according to manufacturers specification. As a multi-skilled individual you will utilize both your electrical and mechanical skills  when carrying out planned and reactive maintenance work. Ensure maintenance cover is provided throughout the operation working a shift pattern covering shifts between 0600-2200 Monday-Friday.



 

Responsibilities

As the Maintenance Engineering Technician you will be responsible for the following;

 

  • To comply with all health, safety, environmental and legal legislation in accordance with the company’s procedures.
  • To ensure that the expected efficiencies and quality standards relative to the engineering department are met.
  • To comply with all training requirements in relation to carrying out the duties of the engineering department.
  • Collation of any relevant KPI and statistical information as and when required in accordance with the full use of the performance and specification bibles.
  • Ensures pre-planned maintenance of operating equipment is carried out effectively and efficiently and records work carried out onto the maintenance log.
  • To ensure that all Health & Safety policies and procedures within your area of responsibility are complied and fully maintained.
  • Maintains a high level of housekeeping within your area of responsibility.
  • Deputise in the absence of the Senior Plant Technician.
  • To behave in a manner consistent with IWS culture and values operating with skill, integrity and innovation at all times.
  • To carry out effectively any reasonable request of the management.

Qualifications

To be considered for the Electrical or Mechanical Maintenance Engineering Technician based in Birmingham, you will ideally have the following;

 

  • Happy to work Shift patterns (6am - 2pm & 2pm to 10pm Monday to Friday)
  • Computer literate with some basic knowledge of Excel.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety at Work and best practice.
  • The ability to work on your own and the willingness to assist in other areas of the operation when needed.
  • Strong organisation & planning skills with a logical approach to complex and varied tasks.
